The Barossa Valley will host two matches at Barossa Park during the 2025 AFL Gather Round. This is the first time the region has been included in the event since its inception.
This exciting event brings together local communities and visitors for a weekend filled with great football action, local food and wine, and entertainment that is suitable for families.
The council will host two major events during the Festival: the Barossa Food and Wine Village in Tanunda on 12th April and a Picnic in the Park at Tanunda Recreation Park on 13th April, coinciding with two major AFL games at Barossa Park. So everyone can find something to their liking at the Festival of Footy, regardless of whether they are a die-hard follower of AFL or simply seeking for a fun day out.
This year’s festival is going to feature a wide variety of exciting contests, and attendees will also have the chance to meet some of the sport’s most legendary figures. The event is intended to provide participants of all ages with a variety of entertainment options, including food stalls that sell delectable regional goods, and a selection of beverages.
During the course of the weekend, there will also be activities centered around football that are available for children and families to participate in.
