The Rooms
You have complete privacy throughout your stay. For stays of eight nights or longer, upon request, you are welcome to receive one mid-stay service/clean at cost.
Barossa Grand Retreats operates a self check-in model. You will be sent an email the evening prior to arrival with access details to the property. If you do not receive your email or do not have access to email, you will need to contact us before midday on the day of arrival.
Check-in is from 2pm and check-out at 11am.
Due to the expansive grounds, size of the properties and our strict COVID-19 cleaning practices, we require significant preparation time prior to guest arrival and cannot guarantee your request will be met.
No, sorry. Our pricing is determined from the costs associated with a minimum of two nights. Therefore, one night stays are not able to be provided any less than the rate for two nights. Some guests choose to book two nights and take advantage of an early arrival or late departure if only able to stay for one night.
A selection of Twinings teas, Nespresso coffee pods, fresh milk, olive oil and condiments are provided so you have the basics to get you started.
Yes, hair dryers and irons are supplied.
Yes – the fluffiest towels and softest bed linen is provided. You don’t need to bring a thing but, of course, you can bring your own pillow if you prefer!
Yes. Children are considered two years or more and are included as part of the maximum occupancy and must utilise existing bedding. If a portacot is required, please advise us at the time of booking.
We do not have a fixed telephone at any of our properties but we do have complimentary WIFI. Please note download speeds can vary over busy periods, and when the lines are congested. This is outside of our control. Good mobile phone coverage is available from all major networks.
Yes, however, you must inform us of this when booking for insurance purposes. Additional charges may apply.
We appreciate that the Retreat and its surroundings will be returned to us in the condition presented on arrival. This means dishes washed and packed away, benches wiped down and rubbish placed in bins. If you have used the BBQ, you must also leave this clean.
The Experience
Upon your arrival, you will find freshly baked sourdough and condiments for your first breakfast, including Nespresso coffee pods, Twining teas and fresh milk. If you would prefer a gourmet breakfast to cook during your stay, you have the option of selecting a breakfast package on our booking system, supplied by Barossa Baskets.

If you wish to invite other person/s to visit during your stay, you need to make arrangements to do so with us, as we incur additional charges (both directly and through wear and tear).
It takes approximately one hour by car from Adelaide Airport/CBD via Northern Expressway.

Although you will feel worlds away from anywhere while at Barossa Grand Retreats’ properties, you are less than a 10 minute drive from the Barossa’s major towns (Tanunda, Angaston and Nuriootpa), all of which have wonderful artisan shops and supermarkets.
No. Although we love furry creatures, we do not accept pets due to the bespoke nature of the properties and the surrounding wildlife.
Yes. Please contact us to discuss options available. Certificates are issued for a monetary value allowing the recipient to book the best available rate. They are valid for one year.
Smoking is not permitted inside of any Barossa Grand Retreats’ properties. If there is evidence of smoking inside the accommodation buildings, you will be charged with an additional cleaning cost for a specialised clean to remove odours.
Smoking is permitted outside within the confines of the paved or gravel areas of the properties. Please remove all butts before departure otherwise additional cleaning costs will apply.
During the months of April to September, you are provided with enough firewood for the approximately 2 hours burning time per day. Please note this is not intended as the primary source of heating and is for ambience only.
You are not permitted to hold any functions, events, parties or wedding-related activities on the property without prior approval from Barossa Grand Retreats` management. Charges will apply for the additional people on the property and any additional cleaning costs. You are responsible for all visitors and guests you allow onto any Barossa Grand Retreats` properties and for any damages or loss they may cause.

Yes, there is a firepit situated on the grounds of Benbullen Homestead and Gawler Park Estate. This is only to be used during the winter months. Benbullen Homestead and Gawler Park Estate are located in a med-high bush fire risk and under no circumstances can open fires be started in any areas outside the confined firepit area.
